For outdoor installation of SXM-E Reference Station inside a weatherproof cabinet, what temperatures can it endure? Is overheating and humidity an issue with components?
Hi @y45h ,
The X5 itself is rated to:
But it’s not clear if that +85C is ambient or internal chip temperature. We believe it is the internal chip temperature.
It’s rare, but some SparkFun users have reported the SXM-E losing fix when installed in hot loft spaces or machine cabinets.
The X5 reports its internal temperature and the CPU load on its web page. It is easy to monitor. The SBF ReceiverStatus message contains both CPULoad and Temperature.
I hope this helps,
Paul
