My Spark TX2 Receiver seems to be taking a lot of time to lock in
on an RTK Fixed Solution. Can I change any settings in the Receiver Profile
to speed it up? I am using the WVRTN VRS Network via NTRIP connection.
All Constellations are enabled, the TX2 is tracking +20 satellites,
I am out in the open with few obstructions.
I have chosen the “vrsRTCM3_1” mountpoint option
My credentials are current with the WVRTN Network and are working with my other GNSS surveying systems.
I have signed up for the Spark PointPerfect monthly correction service and will continue to experiment with elevation masks and active constellation selections in the PROFILE options through the TX2 Wifi Interface. Looking forward to seeing this receiver working the way I hoped.
I disabled the two SV Constellations in User Profile 1 that are not included in the WVRTN RTCM data packet.
I raised the elevation mask to 15 degrees above the horizon.
The improvement in RTK Fixed Solution Initialzation Time seems impressive! The receiver was taking greater than 10 minutes to acquire an “RTK FIXED” solution. With these changes, the Spark TX2 is now re-initializing in seconds! Thank you for your input and support!
I also like to set the C/No (noise ratio) to 30+ , along with the elevation mask to 15+ as you mentioned. Any bird that has a C/No <30 isn’t “generally” very helpful to the Fix.
